Had ghastly diktat in German. Miss Leopold made a ridiculous fuss – we had to move to different desks so nobody was next to anybody else.

English was hilarious. Mrs Huggett explained to us, in great detail, the breakfast schedules she and her husband have. "Schedule A: Holidays - I makes breakfast. Schedule B: Term Time - Alan brings me breakfast in bed!"

Jacqui went on and on in the lunch hour about Sean Connery and how she loves him. Urgh, how can she? He's so old-fashioned.

Read Jackie at home at tea, then did Geog constantly till 11pm. What’s it going to be like in the exam, when we’ve got the whole of Europe as well?

Saw a programme on Kennedy in the evening. It’s so terrible he was killed, especially terrible for Jaqueline and the children. I couldn’t help crying at the end it was so sad. He made some of the best speeches ever. Daddy says you can’t even begin to compare them to Mr Wilson’s.
